The Power of the Mom Groups in Social Media

Updated: Aug 25, 2019

This article is ❤️. The power of the mom groups is real! I have witnessed it firsthand on both sides.

Just yesterday, The NOAH Project was tagged in a mom group asking to help an out of state mom who was here at Comer Children's Hospital at the University of Chicago with her daughter. We immediately got to work and got that mama a care package last night.

This past February when Noah was hospitalized at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, I had taken to the local mom groups myself and asked if anyone happened to be in the hospital and could let me borrow some dry shampoo... in just 38 short minutes, I had some in my hand!

I have felt so much love, compassion, and generosity from complete strangers these last few months while I organize and lay the groundwork for The NOAH Project.

Through a neighborhood mom group, I met a friend who is now a board member of The NOAH Project. Julie Jacobi reached out and started brainstorming with me while my son was still in the hospital. I vowed to make this a reality as soon as we got discharged. 5 months later, here we are!

I also met another mom, Magdalena, who offered to bake some goods to bring with on our deliveries. She made us some delicious bread sticks to take with last night.

I promise you there are still good people out there who care and want to help in whatever capacity they can. You just gotta take to the mom groups and ask!
